About the Journal
Tamil, a classical language, boasts a rich and natural origin. Its influence extends far beyond its geographical boundaries, impacting numerous languages worldwide. Notably, the world’s first grammar book, Tolkappiyam, was written in Tamil, meticulously outlining the language’s unique features and usage. The ancient traditions of the Tamil people are vividly reflected in Sangam literature. With a literary heritage spanning over 2,500 years, Tamil stands as one of the oldest languages in existence, a pioneering force in the world of linguistics. This venerable language is characterized by its antiquity, simplicity, sweetness, elegance, solitude, and pride. To promote awareness of Tamil’s special attributes, its current status, and its potential for revival, the “Kalanjiyam – International Journal of Tamil Studies” was established. It is the responsibility of professors, researchers, enthusiasts, creators, and patrons to collaboratively enhance the language and its literature with insightful contributions. The journal welcomes quality articles, which will be published open-access. We invite researchers in this field to submit their work.
Aim and Scope
The bilingual (Tamil and English) journal, published bi-annually, aims to foster an in-depth understanding and critical evaluation of Tamil language and literature, both in its classical form and its modern evolution. It features articles on topics such as the history of Tamil language and culture, folk arts, temple studies, Siddha medicine, Tamil linguistics, literary theory, creative writing, the psychological aspects of Tamil literature, women’s representation in the literature, eco-criticism, comparative literary approaches, and the translation of world literature into Tamil.

Kalanjiyam is pleased to announce a call for papers. We invite submissions of original research from academic researchers, scholars, and authors for potential publication in our peer-reviewed international research journal. All submissions will be rigorously peer-reviewed. Accepted articles will be published online with open access and available as PDFs. Please note the following deadlines; submissions received outside these periods will not be considered.

தமிழ் மொழி ஒரு செம்மொழியாகும். இது இயற்கையாக தோன்றிய ஒரு மொழி. இதன் தாக்கம் உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள பல மொழிகளில் காணப்படுகிறது. உலகின் முதல் இலக்கண நூலான தொல்காப்பியம் தமிழில் எழுதப்பட்டது. இது மொழியின் சிறப்பு மற்றும் பயன்பாட்டை விளக்குகிறது. சங்க இலக்கியம் தமிழ் மக்களின் பழமையான பாரம்பரியத்தை பிரதிபலிக்கிறது. இரண்டாயிரத்து ஐந்நூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலான இலக்கிய மரபுகளைக் கொண்ட தமிழ், உலகின் மிகப்பழமையான மொழிகளில் ஒன்றாகும். உலக மொழிகளில் மூத்ததும் முன்னோடியுமானதுமான மொழிகளில் தமிழ் மொழியும் ஒன்று. தமிழ் மொழி தொன்மை, எளிமை, இனிமை, செம்மை, தனிமை, பெருமை என பல்வேறு சிறப்புகளை உள்ளடக்கியது. தமிழ் மொழியின் சிறப்பை, அதன் தற்போதைய நிலை மற்றும் மறுமலர்ச்சி தன்மையை அனைவரும் அறிந்துகொள்வதற்காகவே “வகுளம் – சர்வதேச தமிழ் ஆய்வு இதழ்” உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஞானத்தின் உதவியுடன் தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கியத்தின் சிறப்பை மேலும் மேம்படுத்துவது பேராசிரியர்கள், ஆய்வாளர்கள், ஆர்வலர்கள், படைப்பாளர்கள் மற்றும் புரவலர்களின் கடமையாகும். எமது ஆய்விதழில் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படும் தரமான கட்டுரைகள் அனைவரும் இலவசமாகப் பெறும் வகையில் வெளியிடப்படும். இத்துறையில் ஆர்வமுள்ள ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் தங்கள் பங்களிப்பை நல்குமாறு அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
நோக்கம்
வகுளம் சர்வதேச தமிழ் ஆய்வு இதழ், தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கியத்தில் கவனம் செலுத்தும் ஒரு பன்னாட்டு ஆய்விதழ் ஆகும். இது ஆண்டுக்கு இரண்டு முறை, தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலம் ஆகிய இரு மொழிகளில் வெளியிடப்படுகிறது. தமிழ் வளர்ச்சியின் நவீன போக்குகளை அனைவரும் அறிந்து புரிந்துகொள்வதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படுகிறது. இந்த இதழில், தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கியம், கலாச்சாரம், நாட்டுப்புறக் கலைகள், கோயில் கட்டிடக்கலை, சித்த மருத்துவம், மொழியியல், திறனாய்வு, தமிழிலக்கியப் படைப்புகள், உளவியல், பெண்ணியம், ஒப்பீட்டு ஆய்வுகள் மற்றும் உலகளாவிய மொழிபெயர்ப்பு இலக்கியங்கள் போன்ற பல்வேறு துறைகளில் ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகள் இடம்பெறுகின்றன. இதன் மூலம், தமிழ் சார்ந்த பல தளங்களிலும் ஆய்வுகளை ஊக்குவிக்கிறது.

ஆய்வாளர்கள், எழுத்தாளர்கள் மற்றும் தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்கள் ஆகியோரின் சிறந்த ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரைகள் வரவேற்கப்படுகின்றன. பெறப்படும் அனைத்து ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளும் மதிப்பாய்வு செய்யப்பட்டு, இணையதளத்தில் வெளியிடப்படும்.
