Article Processing Charges (APC) Information

KALANJIYAM adheres to an Open Access Policy, which means that articles are freely available online as soon as they are published. As a result, we do not generate any revenue from selling subscriptions to print or online versions of our journals, nor do we charge “pay-per-view” fees. Instead, authors are responsible for covering the costs through an article-processing charge (APC) or Publication fee. This APC is used to cover various services provided, including systems for authors, editors, and reviewers, production, hosting, indexing services, and support. Without proper funding for these necessary expenses, we would not be able to provide the high-quality and professional service that we pride ourselves on. Authors are required to pay the article charges upon acceptance prior to publication.

The Regular Article Fee is Rs. 500.00, and the Conference Article Fee is Rs. 200.00. Additionally, this charge includes a free DOI (Zenodo).

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

1. Who is responsible for paying the APC?
In accordance with the submission agreement, the Corresponding author is responsible for arranging and making the payment upon acceptance of the article.

2. When should payment be made?
The Corresponding author or the paying institutions should make arrangements for payment once they receive notification of the article’s acceptance. Please note that this requirement may be exempted if a waiver agreement has been made prior to submission. We kindly request prompt attention to payment to ensure that articles are published without delay.

3. What are the payment options?
Authors or institutions can choose between two payment modes for their convenience when making the payment.

The author who is responsible for correspondence should contact the financial office of the publisher to request an invoice for bank transfer upon acceptance of the article. The office will provide all necessary details and information regarding the payment procedures. Once the payment is completed, the payee must send a scan copy of the payment receipt to the publisher. An acknowledgement email will be received by the author to confirm receipt of payment.

Can I request a waiver for the article processing charges (APC)?
Requests for waivers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration various criteria. These waiver requests must be submitted during the manuscript submission process and will not be considered after the manuscript has been processed.

Will I have to pay if my manuscript is rejected?
No, article processing charges will not be applicable for manuscripts that are rejected by the Editorial office.

Waiver Policy: Kalanjiyam (KIJTS) may provide waivers for authors who are unable to afford the manuscript handling fee. Authors seeking waivers must demonstrate their financial constraints. Corresponding authors requesting waivers must provide strong justifications for their applications. The granting of waivers will be assessed individually, with priority given to cases of genuine need. Due to publication costs, only a limited number of submissions will be considered for each journal issue.

Refund Policy: Once an article is accepted for publication by the Editorial Board, the author is liable for the article processing charges. After the final submission, acceptance, or publication, if the author wishes to cancel the publication, the fee paid will not be refunded.
