Kalanjiyam – the repository
Kalanjiyam means a granary or repository. The journal gathers critical research on Tamil art, literature, grammar, anthropology, linguistics, religion, folklore, archaeology and Tamil computing, and keeps it openly available for scholars everywhere.
It is a bilingual journal: papers are written in Tamil, with titles, abstracts and keywords in English so that the work can be discovered internationally. The journal publishes research articles, book reviews and new editions of manuscripts relating to classical and modern Tamil literature, grammar, folklore and translation.
Our commitment to quality and ethics
Kalanjiyam follows a double-blind peer-review policy, the COPE guidelines on publication ethics, and detailed author guidelines, so that every published paper is original, sound and significant. Our editorial practices are designed to meet the expectations of the UGC-CARE quality mandate:
- to protect research quality and publication ethics in Indian colleges and universities;
- to promote publication in reputable journals;
- to identify original journals and deter predatory or cloned ones.
