Sociology is the field that studies individuals, society, social institutions, and behavior. While this sociology contains various ideas, social change is also seen as an important issue. Social change refers to change in culture, behavior, social institutions and social structure. In this way, this research paper clarifies the evolution of society and social change along with the theoretical thoughts of Classical sociologists such as Auguste Comte, Karl Marx, Herbert Spencer and Emile Durkheim. In the theoretical view of Classical sociologists, it is clear that the society has passed through many stages of development and that development has caused social change. It is significant that the theoretical thoughts of the early Classical sociologists have been instrumental in the development of today's modern era and its transformation. Classical Sociologists's theories of social change have different stages of development. How society evolves and undergoes change at each stage, and how society, culture, customs, ethics, values, behavior of individuals, and the trend of social institutions are shaped at each stage by classical sociologists such as Auguste Comte, Karl Marx, Herbert Spencer and Emile Durkheim. This review also analyses theories of social change.

American literature started its journey in a search for ideal light directed by hope and expectation. It has always been a platform to involve the human situation in its established works. Pearl S. Buck is a successful novelist who belongs to two worlds- an American missionary world and a Chinese world. As a novelist, she was encouraged by her parents and society to write about intercultural and social understanding of different people. East Wind: West Wind is a story which depicts the life of the characters bound by the culture and traditions of upper class society. The novel compares the development and structure of two worlds- China and the West. The novel is based on the relationship with Hsu Chih-Mo, Kwei-Lan’s husband in which she finds difficult to accommodate between tradition and modernity. Through the voice of Kwei-Lan, Pearl S. Buck attempts to portray the position of women in Chinese society.

ஆயர்களின் வாழ்வியலில் குடியிருப்புக்காகவும் கால்நடைகளைப் பாதுகாக்கவும் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் கொடாப்பு வளைதல் என்பது வீடுகட்டுவதைப் போன்ற கடினமான பணியாகும். கொடாப்பு வளைவதற்கு மூன்று அளவிலான கம்புகள் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. அவை கொடப்பிற்கு தூண்களாக, இணைப்புக் கச்சைகளாக, தாங்கிகளாக இருந்து வலிமை சேர்க்கின்றன. இதற்கு பெரும்பாலும் நொச்சிக் கம்புகளே பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர். கம்புகளை வானியல் கணக்கீடுகளைப் பயன்படுத்தி குறிப்பிட்ட நாட்களில் மட்டுமே வெட்டுகின்றனர். வெட்டப்பட்ட கம்புகளைத் தேவைக்கேற்ப பல நுனுக்கங்களைக் கொண்டு செம்மைப்படுத்துகின்றனர். கொடாப்பு வளைவதற்குத் தேவையான கம்புகளைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து வெட்டுவதில் உள்ள நுனுக்கங்களை ஆய்வதாக இவ்வாய்வுக் கட்டுரை அமைகிறது.

The practice of constructing walls for residential purposes and protecting them is a difficult task, similar to building a house. Three types of poles are mainly used for wall construction. They serve as support pillars, connecting rods, and anchor points. Most commonly, iron poles are used in this process. The poles are used only during specific days, determined by weather forecasts, by taking into account various atmospheric conditions. To procure the required poles for construction, several negotiations and deliberations take place. This research article discusses the importance of selecting appropriate poles for wall construction and the evaluation of various criteria for the same.

தனிப்பட்ட மனிதனின் குறையையோ ஒரு சமுதாயத்தின் குறையையோ, ஓர் இயக்கத்தின் குறையையோ குறிப்பாகவோ, வெளிப்படையாகவோ சுட்டிக்காட்டுவதை அங்கதம் என்பர். நகைச்சுவை உணர்வுடன் தொடர்புடைய இலக்கியங்களை அங்கத இலக்கியங்கள் எனலாம். மனிதன் விலங்குகளிடமிருந்து வேறுபடும் இடம் இதுவே. சிரிக்கவும், சிந்திக்கவும் நன்கு தெரிந்த விலங்கு மனிதன். இரவும் பகலும் தொடர்ந்து மாறி மாறி வரும் உலகில் மாறாமல் இருப்பது துன்பமும் துயரமும் தான். மனித இனம் தான் தோன்றியதில் இருந்து இன்று வரை ஒட்டு மொத்த சமூகமும் நிலைத்த இன்பத்தைக் கண்டடைய முயன்று, தோற்று அறியாமை இருளிலேயே சிக்கித் தவித்து வருகின்றது. அவ்வப்போது சிறந்த ஞானியர் தோன்றி நல்ல கருத்துக்களைக் கூறி மறைந்துள்ளனர். அவர்கள் வாழ்வை உற்று நோக்கும் போது அவர்களின் ஒட்டுமொத்த வாழ்விலும் நகைச்சுவை உணர்வு இழையோடி இருப்பதைக் காணலாம். அவ்வகையில் அமைந்த அங்கத இலக்கியம் பற்றிய கருத்துக்கள் இக்கட்டுரையின் மூலம் எடுத்துரைக்கப்படுகிறது.

Hailing the glories of traditional values shows the natural greatness of poets. The poets of excellence give literary life to those traditions. A Poet’s artistic finesse is expressed by their skillfulness in concealing and presenting the ideas in their work. Sanskrit writers term the process of encoding as ‘Viyanjanam’. In this way, despite complaining the moral depravity, engaging in a sophisticated and humourous tone gives profound insights in approaching satirical literature. This essay illuminates the intricacies of literacy aesthetics through the prism of ‘Tholkappiyam’ in Tamil literature.
