Abstract
Sangam literature possesses the unique distinction of being rich in both literary and grammatical excellence. The arts serve as a testament to the Tamils' enduring culture, distinctive civilization, and ancient traditions. The Sangam way of life was deeply rooted in the natural environment. Sangam literature is categorized into two main divisions: Ettuthogai and Pathupattu. Among these, the Pathupattu anthology offers significant insight into the arts and the artists of the era. This article aims to explore how various performing artists—such as Panar, Viraliyar, Koothar, and Porunar—engaged in their respective arts of dance, song, and music as depicted in the Pathupattu.
