செவ்வியல் காலம் முதல் இன்று வரையிலான தமிழ் மொழி, இலக்கியம், மரபு குறித்த, மூலங்களை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட ஆய்வுகளைக் களஞ்சியம் வெளியிடுகிறது.
Kalanjiyam publishes source-based research on Tamil language, literature and heritage, from the classical period to the present.
நோக்கங்கள் Aims
மூலங்களை முறையாகக் கையாளும் அசல் ஆய்வு எந்தத் துறையிலிருந்து வந்தாலும், அது தமிழாய்வோடு தொடர்புடையதாக இருந்தால் வரவேற்கப்படுகிறது.
Rigorous, original work from any discipline is welcome when it handles its sources soundly and relates to Tamil studies.
- தமிழாய்வுக்குத் தமிழிலும் ஆங்கிலத்திலும் சக மதிப்பாய்வு கொண்ட திறந்த அணுகல் களம் அமைத்தல். To provide a peer-reviewed, open-access forum for Tamil studies, in Tamil and English.
- தமிழ் நூல்கள், மொழி, மரபு பற்றிய கவனமான, மூல ஆதாரமுள்ள ஆய்வை ஊக்குவித்தல். To encourage careful, source-based scholarship on Tamil texts, language and heritage.
- சுவடிகள், கல்வெட்டுகள், வாய்மொழி மரபுகள், மரபு அறிவு ஆகியவற்றை ஆவணப்படுத்தும் ஆய்வுகளுக்கு இடமளித்தல். To give a place to work that documents manuscripts, inscriptions, oral traditions and traditional knowledge.

Allied work in the humanities and social sciences is welcome when it concerns Tamil language, literature or heritage.
செவ்வியல் இலக்கியம் Classical literature

தொல்காப்பியம், நன்னூல் முதலிய இலக்கண மரபு; வரலாற்று, சமூக மொழியியல்; வட்டார வழக்குகள். The grammatical tradition of Tolkāppiyam and Naṉṉūl, historical and social linguistics, and dialects.
திறனாய்வும் ஒப்பிலக்கியமும் Criticism and comparative literature

மொழிபெயர்ப்பும் கணினித் தமிழும் Translation and Tamil computing
தமிழுக்கும் தமிழிலிருந்தும் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு; கணினித் தமிழ், எண்ணிம மானுடவியல், இயல்மொழி ஆய்வு. Translation into and out of Tamil; Tamil computing, digital humanities and language technology.
எல்லைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டவை Outside our scope
- படைப்பிலக்கியம் (கவிதை, கதை, நாடகம்) – அவை ஆய்வுப் பொருளாக இருந்தால் தவிர. Creative writing (poems, stories, plays), unless it is the subject of analysis.
- மூலங்களோ மேற்கோள்களோ இல்லாத கட்டுரைகள். Essays without sources or references.
- விளம்பர நோக்கிலான எழுத்துகள். Promotional material.
- கருத்தரங்க மலர்கள் உட்படப் பிற இடங்களில் முழுமையாக வெளியானவை. Work already published in full elsewhere, including seminar proceedings.
