The Creative Commons copyright licenses and tools forge a balance inside the traditional “all rights reserved” setting that copyright law creates. This tools give everyone from individual creators to large companies and institutions a simple, standardized way to grant copyright permissions to their creative work.

The journal «களஞ்சியம் (Kalanjiyam) – An International Journal of Tamil Studies» provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Full-text access to scientific articles of the journal is presented on the official website in the Archives section.
This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The licensing policy is compatible with the overwhelming majority of open access and archiving policies.
