Language must adapt over time to survive; while many ancient languages have declined, Tamil has flourished continuously due to its inherent flexibility and adaptability. Even prior to antiquity, Tamil achieved remarkable linguistic and structural development, as evidenced by foundational grammatical works like the Tolkāppiyam and the refined compositions of Sangam literature. Today, Tamil studies expand across diverse fields, with linguistic and lexicographical research playing a vital role in analyzing the inseparable relationship between words, meanings, concepts, and references. Features such as synonymy and polysemy further enrich the language's expressive capability and functional scope. Integrating these semantic and linguistic elements, this research article provides a detailed examination of the songs composed by the poet Avvaiyar in the Natṟiṇai.
