Abstract

Education is not only a tool for individual intellectual growth, but also a crucial institutional process that drives social change and national human resource development. Therefore, appropriate educational management principles are essential to manage educational institutions efficiently and humanely. Western management theories have put forward various principles in areas such as planning, organizing, leadership, human resource management, decision-making, monitoring, and accountability. In no way inferior to these, ancient Tamil thought contains many corresponding principles within the Thirukkural. Consequently, the management insights of the Thirukkural can be considered a conceptual resource for culturally relevant, ethical leadership in contemporary educational administration.
