Abstract

Sangam literature proclaims the antiquity of the Tamil language to the world, while ethical texts—works of moral instruction—reveal the character and values of the Tamil people to the global community. Among these ethical texts, the Thirukkural stands out as a work revered and celebrated across many nations. Numerous commentaries have been written on this distinguished work, primarily because readers interpret and articulate its verses in alignment with their own perspectives—a testament to the Thirukkural's inherent flexibility. This article aims to examine the profound insights Valluvar conveys regarding education and knowledge within the verses of the Thirukkural.
