Abstract

In this vast and expansive world, Tamil literatures hold a position of supreme distinction. They encompass such multifaceted perspectives that it can be said there is no subject matter that does not exist within them. It is an added strength that Tamil literatures serve as the primary foundation and pioneer for global cultural elements. Although numerous perspectives hold a place of pride in our grand literatures, the purpose of this article is to examine them through the lenses of virtue (Aram), philosophy, society, politics, law, education, and economics.

Furthermore, this study seeks to demonstrate how these ancient frameworks are not merely relics of the past but are living doctrines that offer profound solutions to contemporary global challenges. By dissecting the socio-political structures found in works like the Purananuru and the ethical imperatives of the Thirukkural, we uncover a sophisticated blueprint for sustainable governance and social equity. This research will argue that the integration of classical Tamil thought into modern academic and policy-making discourses can provide a more holistic understanding of human progress. Ultimately, this exploration serves as a bridge, connecting the timeless wisdom of the Sangam and Post-Sangam eras to the complexities of our current interconnected world, reaffirming that the roots of global civilization are deeply intertwined with the Tamil literary tradition.
