Among such creators the works of writer Ponneelan, who vividly portrayed Kumari district - a land that stands as the very kingdom of nature - are truly unique. The lifestyle of the people of kumara district is in noway inferior to the life of ancient Tamils who structured their ways of living based on the five geographical landscapes. In particular, Ponneelan has brilliantly identified and highlighted the Maritime (Neithal) lifestyle of that region and the profound ecological wisdom of its people through his literary works.
