Characteristics of the Narrative Setting in the Works of Writer Mouni

Abstract

A literary work does not rest solely on the author's imagination; that imagination must be grounded in a specific background—or more accurately, such a background invariably exists. An event witnessed, heard, or experienced by the author typically serves as the catalyst for writing; this is what is termed the "background." These backgrounds are categorized into three types: a "social background" arises when a socially relevant event impacts the author and prompts them to write; a "temporal background" emerges when a past or contemporary event influences the author to create; and a "historical background" applies when the author is inspired to write by a historical event. This research paper examines the works of the writer Mouni through this framework, demonstrating that his creations are indeed grounded in these three types of backgrounds.
