Abstract

Tiruvaḷḷuvar kāviyam is a unique Tamil poem of the twentieth century. It was composed by Coimbatore scholar A. Krishnasamy Naidu. The author's fictional kāviyam Thandiyalangaram also contains elements of kāviyam. The author has a deep commitment to Swarajya, democracy, Gandhi's non-violence, and Nehru's equality. Due to the author's boundless interest in Nehru's equality, he has created an egalitarian society without caste and religion in this kāviyam.  Thus, due to his attachment to Gandhi, thoughts on non-violence are woven into this poem. This article was written to identify them.
