Abstract

Salma is a unique feminist voice in contemporary Tamil literature. Her works depict the inner and outer worlds of women, especially Muslim women, from lower and middle class families. Her short stories do not see women as mere family members, but accurately speak of their self and the internal struggles that arise within them. This article examines the relationship of women revealed in Salma’s short stories and the psychological problems they face as a result.
