Abstract

This society, which calls women “the eyes of the nation” and honours our motherland by likening it to a woman as “Bharata Mata”, nevertheless views women as objects of ridicule and pleasure. Against the background of the present-day condition of women, this research article aims to examine and bring out the principles and understandings of “feminist thought” in Jeyamohan's short story “Devaki Chithiyin Diary” (Aunt Devaki's Diary).
